Max Hofler (British, 1892 – 1963)

Max Hofler was born in London. Was educated at Archibishop Tenison’s Grammar School and with special permission at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art (aged 14). Studied at St. Martin’s School of Art, then for five years in the evening at the Royal Academy Schools. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, ROI and others.

Description

In very good condition.

Frame dimensions: 14.75 x 11 inches.

The print comes in its original frame with labels on the reverse.

It is glazed.

The frame shows some wear.

The original backing paper is intact but has some tears.

This has 2 original labels on the reverse:

The publishers label gives the village scene location and reads “Framed by Haigh & Sons, Ltd”

The other is “Normill, Trade mark, Made in England, Serial No.1666.”

There is also a birthday message on the reverse dated March 1951
